week 7 ! fireworks festival, ipark mall, and meerkat cafe

On my first day out of quarantine, I went out to eat udon nearby my school with a friend. It was so nice to be out after 7 days of being indoors, but I was definitely surprised when the temperature dropped so dramatically out of nowhere. It never gets below 70 degree weather in Hawaii, so it was a struggle for me and my friends from Hawaii who had to get accustomed to this cold weather so quickly. We were also lacking winter clothes, so we decided to take a trip to IPark Mall in Yongsan Station.

This mall was insanely huge and there was so much to see. Our original purpose for going to this mall was because we wanted to visit the Ghibli store with the big Totoro statue in the front. What I didn't expect to see was the Keroro Gunso themed café right next to the store. Keroro Gunso was one of my favorite childhood shows that I watched as a kid, and I felt so nostalgic and happy seeing a whole café based on the show. I got a cookie of one the characters and my friends got drinks where the characters were printed on the top. There was a sale at Top Ten and I got some good deals on winter clothes. After shopping, we ate spaghetti and mac and cheese at an American style restaurant.

On that weekend, we also went to a fireworks festival in Hangang park! It was a last minute plan, so we didn't expect the amount of people that were going to be there. I didn't know there were that many people in Seoul until I saw the crowd at the firework showcase. Nonetheless, the firework show was still very entertaining, and it was cute how everyone gasped and clapped whenever the fireworks appeared.

Finally, I also went to a meerkat cafe in Hongdae and it was such a cute experience! The meerkats would walk to my lap and stand on top of it and then lie down when I pet their backs.
