Another eventful week! We came to the realization that November was almost over, meaning we only had a month before our exchange was over! We planned ahead the things that we still needed to do and this week we went to Chinatown in Incheon and Lotte World and the Aquarium.
Firstly, Chinatown was about an hour and a thirty-minute commute away. We were greeted by a big gate at the front as we entered. We walked around there for maybe a few hours, but sadly a lot of the shops were closed so we couldn't really try any food while we were there. We did take a lot of pictures though, and around the area, there were also random places like the Fairytale Land which was like Disney-inspired statues and paintings everywhere. It looked like a bootleg Disney since the characters had changes in their appearance but they were obviously taken from actual Disney movies. We ate some dim sum and then left for the Rail Park, in which you were given a cart to pedal with your legs in order for it to move. That was a really fun activity even though it made us so tired, and we soon ended the day by eating some really good raw seafood. This was the first time I had food such as raw shrimp and crab, but it was so delicious. I'm glad I tried it in Korea since it's hard to find these kinds of foods in Hawaii.
Two days after, we went to Lotte World Theme Park dressed in school uniforms! We arrived at the school uniform place and took quite a bit to choose something to wear since we wanted to make sure we had enough layers to combat the cold, windy weather. We arrived at the theme park a bit later than we planned, but we still managed to go on a few rides while we were there. I went on one ride and I was reminded of why I don't like roller coasters because I was so screaming the entire ride. One thing I noticed in the amusement park is that most Korean people don't scream on the rides no matter how intense they are. So you can imagine how audible we were given the fact that me and my friend were the only ones screaming on the ride.
After Lotte World, we walked over to Lotte Mall and ate ramen, and went to the aquarium afterward. It was a fun time there and we bought big winter coats after to prepare for the cold winter weather in the future.
Also, the World Cup was happening during this time, so the students who lived in the dorm went to the lobby and watched the game together. The energy in the room was so lively when Korea scored a goal.
