This was a jam-packed weekend filled with so many activities. I couldn't catch a break but I had tons of fun. To start off, my Organizational Business class had a picnic together on a park/hiking trail nearby the school. The purpose of the get-together was to have more class bonding activities and interact with team members more so that we can observe the different behaviors of everyone. Each group had to have a concept for their picnic and present it along with a few team games that we could play. Our concept was High-teen and Birthday Party, since we wanted to celebrate the youth and also celebrate one of our team member's birthday. We also coordinated outfits so that we could be cohesive as a group by wearing a white top and jeans with a character headband on. Although we didn't have time to do the team activities that we planned, we still played a few games such as the categories game and the mind telepathy game as a class. It was a fun event and I got closer to my group by spending more time with them. Despite the language barrier, everyone is very nice and they try their best to communicate with me, so it makes me more motivated to try my best to interact with them too.
During the weekend, me and my friend went to Gangnam-gu to get facials done. Gangnam-gu is a business district that also has a lot of centers that specialize in plastic surgery. I got the aqua peeling facial, which was a refreshingly new experience that made my skin feel so clean afterward. While we were in the area, we decided to take a nice afternoon walk since the weather wasn't too cold. Again, I was stunned to see the yellow-leaved trees everywhere around me. We stopped by a Baskin Robbins and tried the ice cream taste tester plate.
The next day, I went out with another friend to Hongdae to decorate phone cases at the Bonobo Cafe. Not only does the cafe have deco den phone case decorating, but you can also decorate other things such as pencil cases, boxes, hand mirrors, and so on. They also have a station where you can make your own slime, and there were a lot of children there for that purpose. The phone cases turned out so cute.
Finally on Sunday, I hung out with a friend that I made in my Financial Management class. It was her birthday on that day, so we went to places that she liked to go to. Our first destination was a very dystopian-like cafe called Nudake. It was located in Seongsu-dong, an area known for unique cafes. This cafe wasn't like the usual cute cafe that I frequently go to, but it had this odd atmosphere to it and the food that was served did not look normal. The food was delicious though, and it was fascinating to eat while looking at the strange decor. It was an interesting experience, and I enjoyed trying something new. We then window-shopped at a few small shops that sold clothes and handbags from local Korean brands. This was also a new experience for me as well since I usually don't enter these places because I don't know where to find them. My friend has been a student in this university since her first year, so she took me around various new places I've never been to. At night, I met up with her friends and we celebrated her birthday by going to a norebang and then eating an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins afterwards. It was delicious and I was so happy meeting new people.
But the festivities were not over yet because the day after, it was the birthday of another friend, and we celebrated by going to a nice Italian restaurant, in which I ordered amazing linguine pasta. Of course, we went to a norebang afterward and sang our hearts out. We ended the night by surprising my friend with a birthday cake in our dorms and sharing our gifts with her. This weekend was so fun and I had an amazing time celebrating birthdays and going out with my friends!
